Buli is named following the buri palm. Alabang is named once the river that passes throughout the barangay. Ayala Alabang was designed by Batas Pambansa Bilang 219 from Barangay Alabang. Sucat received its identify with the vernacular phrase "sukat", which suggests "measurement"
